The Malaysia Technology Expo or MTE in Kuala Lumpur,Malaysia  is an annual main event showcasing the latest advancements and innovations in various fields of technology.

 

Since 2001, MTE has been celebrating outstanding work by innovators, researchers, scientists, students and entrepreneurs worldwide. The expo grew to become the region's leading innovation event through collaborations with local and foreign academia, inventors' associations, and research partners.

2001: The first MTE was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with the aim of showcasing local inventions and innovations to the world. The event was organized by Protemp Exhibitions and Conferences Sdn Bhd, a Malaysian company that specializes in organizing exhibitions, conferences, and events

 

2002-2018: The MTE continued to grow and attract participants from around the world. The event featured a wide range of innovative products and technologies, including robotics, biotechnology, green technology, and information technology

 

2019: The 18th MTE was held, bringing together over 8,000 visitors and more than 500 exhibitors from around the world. The event featured a wide range of innovative products and technologies, including robotics, biotechnology, green technology, and information technology. The MTE also featured a series of seminars and workshops on innovation and entrepreneurship

 

2020: Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the MTE was postponed to 2021. However, the organizers of the event continued to promote innovation and entrepreneurship through a series of online events and webinars

 

2021: The MTE was held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The event featured over 200 exhibitors from around the world, showcasing a wide range of innovative products and technologies. The MTE also featured a series of online seminars and workshops on innovation and entrepreneurship

 

2022: The MTE has grown to become one of the leading international innovation events in Asia, dedicated to honoring innovators and bridging the path from lab to market. The event has gone hybrid, with both in-person and virtual components, and is expected to attract strong attendance from local and foreign participants. The MTE 2023 will be held at the World Trade Center in Kuala Lumpur from March 16 to 18, 2023

 

MTE has a long history of showcasing innovative ideas and inventions from Malaysia and around the world, and has become an important event for innovators looking to connect with the marketplace and demonstrate their ideas. The MTE has also played a key role in promoting innovation and entrepreneurship in Malaysia and the region, and has helped to foster a culture of innovation and creativity among young people and entrepreneurs

 

 

Today , MTE  a leading global innovation event will take center stage at the World Trade Centre from 16th to 18th March 2023.  This annual innovation event brings together global innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers and scientists, and experts from various fields and industries to showcase their latest innovations, share ideas, and collaborate with industries to develop better technologies and solutions to shape our future.  This is also a platform for innovators to meet potential investors and partners.

 

Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) has been an active participant in the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE), showcasing its innovative research and projects since 2002 until today. MTE has become one of most prestigious R&D competitions in Malaysia to the extent that it has recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) as one of the awards accepted by Malaysia Research Assessment (MYRA).
